Life Paintings

When
I work on a still life painting, I like to focus on the structure and
relationships of the shapes and space. I work around the forms until I
feel that the objects are "sitting" properly. I love exploring
the depths of the colors. I tend to have an ant's eye view of things,
although I'm not sure why that is. I usually work in my kitchen, because
the light is best. I work relatively quickly. I can't keep things
set up for too long, because it is my kitchen, after all. But everyone in
my family is used to me, so we make adjustments.
